The Media Now (“we,” “us,” “our”) operates themedianow.net, a U.S.-based news and commentary site. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. It is not legal advice.
Who we are
The website address is https://themedianow.net. The site is hosted on Hostinger. We do not claim affiliation with any law firm, and nothing here creates an attorney–client relationship.
Information we collect
Information you provide
If you email us or use a contact form once one is enabled, we receive whatever you send (for example, your email address and message). We use that only to respond or to improve the site.
Automatically collected information
Like most sites, our hosting environment and WordPress may log technical data such as IP address, browser type, device type, referring URL, pages viewed, and approximate timestamps. Server and security logs are used for operations, abuse prevention, and troubleshooting.
Cookies and similar technologies
We use standard WordPress cookies when needed for core site functions (for example, logged-in admin sessions and comment cookies if comments are enabled). Theme and plugin features may set additional cookies for preferences such as layout or language.
If we enable analytics or advertising in the future, those tools may set their own cookies. We will update this page when that happens. You can control cookies through your browser settings; blocking some cookies may affect site features.
Embedded content
Articles may embed content from third parties such as X (Twitter) or YouTube. Embedded content behaves as if you visited that third party’s site and may collect data according to their policies. We do not control those services.
Analytics
We may use privacy-respecting or standard web analytics to understand aggregate traffic (pages viewed, referral sources, approximate geography). Analytics providers process data under their own terms. If a specific analytics product is added, we will name it here.
How we use information
- To operate, secure, and improve the site
- To respond to messages you send us
- To understand what content is useful (in aggregate)
- To comply with law or protect rights and safety when required
Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We use service providers (including Hostinger for hosting, and any email, CDN, analytics, or security vendors we enable) who process data only to provide their services to us. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the site and its users.
Retention
Server logs and messages are kept only as long as reasonably needed for the purposes above, then deleted or anonymized, unless a longer period is required by law.
Children
The site is intended for a general adult audience. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child provided information to us, contact us and we will delete it.
Your choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you, or to opt out of certain processing. Email us (once the contact address is published on the Contact page) with your request. We may need to verify identity before acting.
Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
